Bureau Adviser

Would you like to make a real difference ? Just think of every problem you’ve ever had and now think about the problems your friends and family have had. That’s a lot of people and a lot of problems. At any time, any of these people could have come along to Musselburgh Citizens Advice Bureau where a member of our team would have been able to help with information and advice.

You don’t need special skills, from your very first day we’ll give you all the training you’ll need to become an Advisor. We’ve created a great training programme which aims to develop your knowledge, skills and prepare you for advising in the CAB. You’ll learn to use our electronic information system and you’ll be amazed by just how much information you can access on just about any issue you can think of. Our aim is to give CAB clients the information they need to help them decide what’s best for them. You’ll be helping all kinds of people and really  difference you can make.

We just require a friendly, welcoming disposition, a good listener and someone who can use and understand our electronic information system. You’ll have good skills in English language and basic IT skills.

Bureau Receptionist

Musselburgh Citizens Advice Bureau provides advice, support and assistance to the residents of East Lothian and district on a range of issues. We are currently looking to recruit a number of volunteer receptionists to be the first point of contact for clients coming into the bureau. We currently offer 8 drop in sessions for clients, Monday to Friday 10.00 – 12.30 and Monday – Wednesday from 1.30 – 4.00pm. Ideally the receptionist should cover 2 shifts per week, but this would be open to negotiation and discussion.
