We aim to send you a reply within 3 working days after getting your request. If you have not heard from us by then, please contact us on 0131 653 2748. EMAIL SECURITY For most people, the security risks of using the internet and email are minimal. It is very unlikely that your email will be stopped or seen by someone else before it reaches us. However, please think carefully about the extra details that you give us. Make sure the email address you provide to us, for a reply, is secure and not accessible by any person you do not want to know you have contacted the CAB service e.g. another family member or a manager at work. To ensure your confidentiality at all times, we will only reply to the email address you provide when you first make an online enquiry. If you have to change your email address for any reason, you will need to telephone or visit the bureau and answer some security questions to allow us to make a change. LETTERS and DOCUMENTS Our service does not have the facility for you to send attachments such as letters or documents. Tell us in your enquiry, about any documents you have that you think may be relevant, and we may have to ask what documents you have in a reply. If they are necessary for us to give a complete reply to your enquiry we may ask for them to be delivered to the bureau, and in some circumstances, we may offer you a follow up appointment to bring your documents and discuss your enquiry. DATE PROTECTION, CONFIDENTIALITY and PRIVACY Data Protection: In order to help you we need to maintain a record of your case which may contain sensitive personal data. The law says we must get your consent to do this.   We keep all your details confidential and do not pass them on to anyone else without your permission. BECOMING A CLIENT OF THE BUREAU If you are a new client to the Bureau we will need to gather enough information to set up a client record before we offer you advice. This ensures we can trace any advice we have given you should you need to contact us again on the same issue, or on a different matter. Once we have set up this record, we only ask for your Name, Date of Birth, and Postcode for any further enquiries.  If you contact us again, let us know that you have contacted us before so that we can look up the details that we have already recorded for you. Remember, we will only reply to the original email address you gave us unless we agree the change after you have answered some additional security questions.
